I recently posted an ad for someone's rental on our site. While on the phone with him, I mentioned our scammer alert and the typical scam received when advertising a rental. Well it didn't take long for our newest advertiser to receive his first scam message. Grateful for my warning, he quickly forwarded the message to me. Then another. And another. Where were they coming from? You'll never believe what I found.

Ours wasn't the only site he had posted the ad. Since this was the very first time using our classifieds, he had also posted the ad on a competitor's website. Sure enough, the next message confirmed it. "I saw your ad on such and such…" Our classified system had blocked spurious messages that others had allowed to pass through.

2008 Fishing for Kids Saltwater Trout Tournament

April 26, Fishing for Kids raises money for Children's Miracle Network at Shands Children's Hospital. Registration is $100 and there is a guaranteed payout of $2,500. Each boat is limited to two fisherman plus an optional youth angler (under age 16). Tournament will start at Safe Light, a captains' meeting is required and will be held at 5:45am. Is there such thing as a bad day of fishing. Register now.

CW Watersports Presents Hypertour 08

SFCC Spring Arts Festival

I saw something that would be fun this weekend. SFCC is holding there spring arts festival in historic district on April 5th Saturday 9am to 5:30pm and Sunday 1pm to 5:30pm.
