The Annual Olustee Battle Festival and Civil War Reenactment is soon approaching! The annual three-day event draws thousands of visitors each year. The festival is held in Downtown Lake City, FL, at Olustee Park. Downtown you will see vendors and crafters, historical displays, entertainment, the annual parade, the skirmish between the Merrimack and the Monitor on Lake DeSoto, and much more! The reenactment is located at nearby Olustee Battlefield State Park. Thousands of reenactors from all over the southeast encamp the grounds where the battle took place over 150 years ago. Once stepping into the park, you are transported back in time as you take in the sights and sounds. See medical demonstrations, cavalry tactics, artillery firings, army encampments, drill and ceremonies and more. The official battle reenactment takes place on Sunday. Come out and see this important part of Florida’s history!

The Krickets, an amazingly talented folk/Americana quartet, will be in concert in White Springs on November 19th! The quartet was awarded as Folk Artist of the Year 2016 by the International Music and Entertainment Association. Their album, Spanish Moss Sirens, has received excellent reviews and quickly became number one on the Amazon folk charts. Now you have the opportunity to experience the mesmerizing voices of The Krickets live! Click here for more information!
Denim & Diamonds will be held November 19, 6 pm, at Christ Central Grand Foyer. The event will include dinner, live music, entertainment, and a silent auction of a paid vacation to St Augustine, a Tiffany & Co. necklace, and more!
This benefit dinner is to help raise funds for Megan Zipperer, husband River, and three children. Megan, 25, was diagnosed last year with stage three cervical cancer, for which she underwent treatment and had positive outcome. However upon her six-month checkup last month, it was discovered that the cancer returned and metastasized to other regions of her body. Megan was told her cancer is terminal and her life expectancy would be six to twelve months. All of the proceeds will go to Megan and her family so that River may be home to have as much time as possible with his family, as well as to pay medical bills and unexpected expenses during this time.
