Placing Your Ad
Step 1: At the top of every page you will find a link to place an ad on our site. Clicking that link will send you to a page that looks like this. Next, select whether you are placings a private party classified or a business rate classified.
If you are not sure which type ad of you are placing, read our guidelines for what qualifies for the business rate. If you still have a question, please call our office. Or you may place it as a free ad and we will contact you if your ad requires the business rate.
Those placing a business rate ad will have a place to enter their company name or a contact name. Realtors should enter their name and agency.
Join our Newsletter. By joining our newsletter you will receive a monthly email newsletter highlighting the best photos, odd ads or cool classifieds. We often give out coupon codes in our newsletter and have contests for movie tickets. Plus you will find helpful information for getting the most out of your ad.
Enter your contact information and click 'Continue.'
Step 2: Select your section and page. Then, select the category your ad will appear in.
Feel free to look around to make certain you have selected the best category. Our ad approvers will do their best to see that your ad is moved to the most appropriate category.
Some categories are premium categories. Ads may be posted to premium categories at the business rate only. If you select such a category, a notice will appear at the bottom.
Click 'Continue.'
Step 3: Type your ad here. You have 500 characters. Be sure to include features that people will find most interesting. There is no need to include the phone number of email address; they will be automatically added. Don't forget to include the price. Example: $105,900.
You can see how your ad will look in the preview box below. Now is a good time to check the spelling.
Next select features to grab people's attention.
Colored Borders help your ad stand out from the rest.
Deluxe Styles go a step further and give your ad a contrasting background.
Super Cool Styles are borders with animation. Look for seasonal and novelty styles.
"No Style" ads are free and the first line of the ad is in boldface type.
Select how many months you would like to run the ad. Ads sort by expiration date. A two month ad will appear above a one month ad.
Photos are the most requested item people ask for when responding to ads. Check the box to go to Step 4 and upload your photos. Ads with a photo will appear in rotation on our homepage.
Weblinks link to another webpage. A link to your email is automatically included. To work properly, your weblink should begin with http:// in the link.
Click 'Continue.'
Step 4: Upload your photos, click 'Browse…' A file open dialog will appear, find your photo and select it. Photos can be .jpg and will be resized to 400 pixels wide. They must be less than 4000 x 4000 pixels and the file must be smaller than 2MB.
Once you select the photo, the box next to 'Browse…' will be filled with text. Click 'Upload.' A status bar will appear with the time remaining for your photo to finish uploading.
If you would like more than one photo, repeat the browse and upload steps. Then select which photo you would like to be the primary photo.
Click 'Continue to Checkout.'
Step 5: Publish your ad. Most ads are free. Click 'Publish My Classified.'
If you are posting a business rate ad or you added premium features, enter your billing information. All credit card orders are secure using 256-bit SSL encryption. Our system will contact your bank to authorize the amount. Your card will not be charged until the ad is approved.
If you have a coupon, enter the coupon code as it appears. Coupon codes are ALL CAPITOL LETTERS. Coupon codes are often given out in our newsletter.
Please enter your information accurately. For Visa, Master Card, and Discover, the Card Code or CVV is a three digit code that appears on the back of the card in the signature line to the right. It's in really fine print and often partially rubbed off. For American Express, the Card Code or CVV is a 4 digit code on the front of the card either on the left or right side.
Click 'Process Credit Payment.'
You will see a confirmation screen and a confirmation email is sent.
Updating Your Ad
Check your email. A short email from us should be waiting for you. It includes a copy of your ad.
Be sure to hold on to this email. This email contains a link that will allow you to update or cancel your ad. If you can't find your confirmation email, you can have it sent again.
About half way down this email, there is a long weblink. Click on it. Or visit http://my.usa4sale.com and enter your order number and email address.
Once you enter your order number and email address, you will see your ad, like this:
Edit - make changes to the text area.
Repost - renew a free ad if it will expire within 7 days.
Manage Photos - switch out your photos for new ones, and select the primary photo.
Cancel - remove your ad from the site. See below.
If you edit your ad text, your ad will be taken off the website until it can be approved again. Your ad will be approved within 24 hours.
Canceling Your Ad
If you click "Cancel This Ad," you will be taken to a feedback page that looks like this.

NOTE: When you cancel your ad there can be as much as a 5 minute delay until it is removed from the site.
