Ocala4sale.com’s weekly newsletter received a Local ADDY for Interactive Media Online Newsletter. The ADDY competition recognizes and rewards creative excellence in the art of advertising. But the newsletter’s 20,000 subscribers who use Ocala4sale.com to buy and sell are also contributors.
“What’s so special about this newsletter is that almost all of the content is user submitted,” says Nicholas Ward, the newsletter’s creative editor. Each week classified ads are selected, edited, and compiled with helpful articles and tips for buying and selling.
The newsletter selects classified ads for their novelty or thrift. The August 8th issue featured a ’55 Chevy, a bicycle rickshaw, spiky high heels, a wedding announcement, and a Howdy Doody ventriloquist dummy.
“We are always on the look out for interesting items. Once someone posted an ad for an industrial laser. We’ll see what shows up next week.” said Ward.
The ADDY Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 50,000 entries every year in local ADDY competitions. Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the local ADDY Awards is the first of a three-tier, national competition.
