Enjoy a free community festival, sponsored by Four Rivers Audubon, celebrating nature! The festival will be April 8th, 10am-3pm at Alligator Lake Park. Walking workshops will highlight butterflies, native plants and flowers. Vendors and exhibitors will offer nature- and garden-related items and native plants. There will be music, food, and many free children’s activities, so bring the entire family for a fun, educational day outdoors! Also, meet and have your photo taken with Trouble, a bald eagle, at noon!

The WoofStock Festival, hosted by Covenant Pet Trust, will be held March 11 at Darby Pavilion near Lake DeSoto in downtown Lake City.
In addition to the 4th Annual Columbia County Doxie Derby Races, the festival will include a 5K Fun Run/Walk, Parade of Paws along Marion St., and a new event–the K9 Team Challenge–in which teams of 4 and their dogs compete for the Fire Hydrant Award. Come out to downtown Lake City for a fun-filled day of events, entertainment, races, contests, great food, and vendors! Participants and spectators are encouraged to come for a great time! Go for a bike ride or hike a trail at one of our local state parks. The Florida Department of Health in Columbia County hosts a community walk the 3rd Saturday of each month at O’Leno State Park.

The 23rd Annual Wellborn Blueberry Festival is Saturday, June 4, 7am-3pm, at Andrews Square in downtown Wellborn. Arrive early for the blueberry pancake breakfast, visit a variety of arts & crafts vendors, shop for homemade blueberry goods at the Country Store, and enjoy local entertainment. Bring the kids–there will be children’s amusements, a petting zoo, ponies and more! Other features include a car show, 9am-3pm, and the parade at 9:30am.
