The 23rd Annual Wellborn Blueberry Festival is Saturday, June 4, 7am-3pm, at Andrews Square in downtown Wellborn. Arrive early for the blueberry pancake breakfast, visit a variety of arts & crafts vendors, shop for homemade blueberry goods at the Country Store, and enjoy local entertainment. Bring the kids–there will be children’s amusements, a petting zoo, ponies and more! Other features include a car show, 9am-3pm, and the parade at 9:30am. Princess Thimbelina, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s Thumbelina, will come to life at the Levy Performing Arts Center at Florida Gateway College on Friday, January 29, 7:30 pm.
The performance, featuring 9-foot tall puppets and fanciful costumed characters, is being presented by Bits ‘N Pieces Puppet Theatre that has produced 11 original musical adaptations of classic children’s literature. General admission is $20 for adults and $10 for students K-12. Each adult member of Community Concerts will receive a bonus pass to admit one student K-12 to the show free.
